The Village Vanguard is an “exciting bookstore” filled with quirky, cute, and maniacal treasures. The store was named after the “Village Vanguard,” a jazz club in New York, because Chairman Kikuchi, a jazz lover, dreamed of having a live jazz concert at the bookstore.
